Yoga for Pregnancy Workshop, Coromandel Chronicle article May 2018
Being pregnant is one of the most phenomenal things a human being can do and it can also be an overwhelming time full of new experiences. Yoga during pregnancy is a fantastic way to connect with your baby and prepare yourself physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually for the big changes that come with having a little one.This workshop combines yoga postures, breathwork, art, deep relaxation, meditation and gentle dance movements to support women through all stages of pregnancy, birth and the first months of motherhood.
While lovingly connecting with the growing baby within, other mums and sharing plenty of snacks, drinks and helpful tips; we will learn ways to alleviate nausea, lower anxiety , increase energy, relieve cramp, reduce lower back pain and hip aches, ease swoollen ankles, safely tone the abdominal and pelvic floor muscles, prepare for birth and life with a newborn afterwards. Handouts will be provided so practices can continue afterwards at home.
This workshop is suitable for women at any stage of pregnancy and health professionals working with pregnant women and their families. No previous experience of yoga is required and all equipment is provided.
Facilitated by: Rebecca Leaker, 500 Hour Qualified Yoga Teacher and proud mother with additional teacher training in supporting women through pregnancy and birth with Embody Birth.
